BWB Episode 46 - AU2020 Review

Hey BWB Fans,

Autodesk University was bittersweet this year. While free and well attended it was online and difficult to divert full attention. We’ve surveyed several and all responded almost unanimously that despite having the best intentions it was hard to be 100% available to the sessions. I think we take the idiosyncrasies of Vegas for granted. Having spotty wifi and cell coverage in Vegas is often seen as a detriment but in fact it’s secretly a blessing as we become a captive audience.

The reasons for not being captive this year boil down to availability. Not being 1k miles away means we are available to employers, co-workers, customers, and family. This year there were hundreds of interesting classes that I’ll definitely watch on demand, after the kid are asleep. I was blown away by the sessions I did attend. I enjoyed the topics on DfMA, Bridging the Gap between CIM and BIM, BIM for GIS, and all of the keynotes. I can’t wait to dive in further.
