BWB Episode 36 - BIM Standards and The Importance of Training

Hey BWB Fans,

We had a lot of fun recording this one. We had a last minute change of plans and landed on the topic of training and standards in our offline discussion that day. While the reasoning for this impromptu episode is unfortunate we enjoyed the whiskey fueled conversation.

The truth is good standards come from experience and proper training (both internal and external). Experience comes in due time but training can be more immediate. Getting employers to pay for training can be difficult without the proper pitch. ROI, downtime/loss of productivity, employee retention post training, etc are all worthwhile concerns. However, none of them outweigh the risks, rework, and inefficiencies of the alternative, especially in today’s environment.
